Swati, also known as siSwati, is a Bantu language spoken in Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) and the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It is one of the official languages of Eswatini, along with English. Additionally, Swati is spoken by communities in neighboring South Africa and Mozambique.

The Swati language is a member of the Nguni group of Bantu languages, which also includes Zulu, Xhosa, and Ndebele. Swati has a close linguistic relationship with Zulu, and speakers of the two languages can often understand each other to some extent.

The orthography of Swati uses the Latin script, and efforts have been made to standardise its writing system. Swati is known for its rich oral tradition, which includes storytelling, poetry, and praise songs. Traditional ceremonies and rituals in Eswatini often involve the use of the Swati language.
